Block device XXXX is write protected, Error while mounting samba on linux

ERROR WHILE MOUNTING SAMBA SHARE ON LINUX

While working with samba you may come across this type error, saying

“block device xxxxxx is write-protected”.

This error is mainly because your machine is not having cifs packages installed.

Try installing the “cifs-utils”package either by yum or rpm as shown below and retry

Now if you try again it will mount as follows
